Rich Hartman established Construction Risk Management Consultants in February 2007 after the sale of an insurance brokerage firm in which he was President. Rich has dedicated his career to providing the most comprehensive professional liability risk managment, loss prevention and insurance consulting services available to the construction industry. Rich is a proven innovator and leader in the professional liability industry. Rich has been honored with a number of awards and recognitions by industry organizations for his dedicated service to the design professions and insurance industry.
With the establishment of CRMC Rich is able to foucs solely in the consulting arena where he can provide unbiased advocacy to his clients without his services being tied to the sale of an insurance policy.
Rich has been an advocate for and on behalf of A/E firms and their professions having worked with many of the professions leaders in New Jersey and Pennsylvania to improve the legal, regulatory and statutory environment in which A/E's work. Rich has has the good fortune to work on behalf of the A/E community on a great many issues, including issues such as Tort Reform and the enactment of the Affidavit of Merit statute in New Jersey; successfully worked with AIA/NJ and its legal counsel to achieve improvements in the wording in the professional service contract for a significant school construction program being undertaken by the State of New Jersey. Currently, Rich is continuing his effort to improve the legal liability climate in New Jersey and is looking forward to bringing this level of support and advocacy to other jurisdictions across the United States where this level of support is needed.
Rich has over 25 years of professional, real world experience in providing proven professional liability risk management and insurance services, guidance, advice, advocacy and innovation to design professionals, construction management, design-build and environmental consulting firms. Rich has designed, implemented and managed professional liability insurance, risk management and loss prevention programs for thousands of design firms including a number of the largest architecture and engineering firms in the United States many of which perform services on construction projects throughout the world. In addition, Rich has designed and implemented professional liability insurance and risk management programs for large, complex, multi-site construction programs undertaken by both public entities and private enterprise.
Rich has authored many articles on the subject of professional liability risk management and has lectured at numerous seminars and workshops educating thousands of design and insurance professionals on real world, proven methods of identifying, understanding and managing professional liability risk.
